This is an old revision of the document!
Join us at the elektro:camp(«2012.05») Workshop on May 4th and 5th 2012 at the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg, Germany!
Elektro:Camp is a convention on Smart Metering, Smart Home, Smart Grid and Smart Ideas, in a BarCamp style.
This is the fourth meeting of the open source metering community. The concept worked very well at the previous meetings in Kaiserslautern (October 2010), Stuttgart (May 2011) and Groningen (November 2011).
You're here for the first time? To get a first impression of the previous Camp you might want to give the proceedings a look or two.
In case you fell in love with our beautiful flyer and want to generate some atomic or digital copies (yes, you may!) - you can find them here:
You can travel to Offenburg by train. The ICE stops in Offenburg. You can take a bus to “Hochschule, Offenburg” (Line S8, direction “Hildboltsweier”).
Just guessing that some people arrive by train around 11:30 (11:27 in case you come from the north, via Karlsruhe, 11:33 coming from the south, via Freiburg) (…no, there's not that many trains coming into Offenburg), so people coming in by car might be able to arrange a lift over to the Hochschule.
“Hey, I come in via train and would love to get a lift! This is my name:”

You can reach Baden-Airpark pretty well from London Stansted e.g.; from Baden-Airpark you can take bus Line 205, direction “Merkurwald, Baden-Baden” which takes you to the main train station of Baden-Baden (~30 min.). From there you can take a train to Offenburg (another 30 mins.) and another 10 mins. on a bus get you to the Hochschule, details see above. Baden-Airpark Google Maps
You probably want to have a car to choose this one; good value, some 7 km from the Hochschule, though.
The elektro:camp is a BarCamp style conference. They elektro:camp is an open, participatory workshop-event, the content of which is provided by participants.
To get some Idea, here is a small list of topics presented in the previous Elektro:Camps
