HexaBus - The Kraken of Home Automation
Our standards-based, open-source home automation system is now (almost) available. The facts:
Each device has an unique IPv6 address.
Devices communicate using 6LoWPAN on 868
MHz (yes, its a mesh network).
There is a direct mapping of devices to (globally unique) IPv6 adresses.
Each device runs Contiki, a nice little operating system with support for networking and processes. TCP, UDP, and ICMP are directly available.
Each device also runs a webserver that provides a little configuration interface (just like your network router)
Hardware is based on an ATMega1284 - use avrgcc or WinAVR for development.
Both hardware and software are open source.
Provides excellent interfaces for hacking (both hardware and software).
