This is an old revision of the document!
Our standards-based, open-source home automation system is now (almost) available. The facts:
* Each device has an unique IPv6 address. * Devices communicate using 6LoWPAN on 868 MHz (yes, its a mesh network). * There is a direct mapping of devices to (globally unique) IPv6 adresses. * Each device runs Contiki, a nice little operating system with support for networking and processes. TCP, UDP, and ICMP are directly available. * Each device also runs a webserver that provides a little configuration interface (just like your network router) * Hardware is based on an ATMega1284 - use avrgcc or WinAVR for development. * Both hardware and software are open source. * Provides excellent interfaces for hacking (both hardware and software).
