===== Welcome Smart Developers & Thinkers! ===== ~~NOTOC~~ Join us at elektro:camp(<<2013.04>>) on 26+27 April 2013 at the Fraunhofer ITWM in Kaiserslautern, Germany! Elektro:Camp is a participative workshop on Smart Metering, Smart Home, Smart Grid and Smart Ideas, in a BarCamp style. This is the sixth meeting of the open source metering community. The concept worked very well at the previous meetings in Kaiserslautern (October 2010), Stuttgart (May 2011), Groningen (November 2011), Offenburg (May 2012) and Leuven (October 2012). You're thinking of participating for the first time? To get an impression of the previous elektro:camp you might want to take a closer look at the proceedings. As always, participation is free - you just pay for your sleeping accomodation and maybe food. ===== Flyer ===== Feel free to use the artwork to promote EC1304 on your site or in dead-tree format. ===== Location ===== Use this Google Map for directions to the car park and venue: http://goo.gl/maps/afZOE Anreisebeschreibung (DE) and How to reach us (EN) Please note: on Friday, please use the public entrance at the front side of the building and park your car in the visitor area in front of the building. On Saturday, we open the entrance at the rear side of the building for you. You can park your car behind the Fraunhofer building. Use the construction access gravel road that comes down from the Carl-Euler-Strasse which leads to the supermarkets Wasgau and Netto. This allows you to bypass the gate. ===== Accomodation ===== The distance between the institute and the train station is about 15 minutes by foot. They elektro:camp is an open, participatory workshop-event, the content of which is provided by participants. To get some Idea, here is a small list of topics presented in the previous Elektro:Camps * The Flukso energy monitoring system * The MySmartGrid demand side management project * Home automation projects like a Washing machine remote control system * An Open Source Smart Meter with a focus on privacy - you remain the master of your data volkszaehler.org * Interfacing with utility consumption meters * Privacy aspects of the smart grid * 6LoWPAN wireless networking for Home Automation: OctoBus, now known as HexaBus * Low power sensor networks ===== Schedule ===== Anyone is welcome to present a topic during one of the sessions. If you cannot allocate your presentation/demo/workshop to an existing topic, then please add it to the FIFO queue below and we'll see how we can fit it in: ^ Queued presentations/demos/workshops ^ By ^ Presentation/Link/etc. ^ | "Negawatts" - motivating energy control | Markus Gebhard | https://github.com/gebhardm/energyhacks/blob/master/ElektroCamp/Negawatts.pdf | | "CheapNetDuinoHack" - Using Polling AVRNetIO as cheap Arduino w/ ethernet | Markus Gebhard | https://github.com/gebhardm/energyhacks/blob/master/ElektroCamp/CheapNetDuinoHack.pdf | | Home automation with Arduino | Thomas Gauweiler | http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/Evaluations-Platine_f%C3%BCr_Heimautomatisierung | | ... | | | ^ Fr. 26.04.2013 ^^ ^ Time ^ ^ | 12:30 | Lunch at the Fraunhofer canteen | | 13:15 | Introduction | | 13:30 | Session 1 | | 15:00 | Coffee & Tea | | 15:30 | Session 2 | | 17:00 | Wrap up day 1 | | 20:00 | Dinner & Social Event | ^ Sa. 27.04.2013 ^^^ ^ Time ^ ^ ^ | 8:30 | Coffee & Tea | | | 9:00 | Session 3 | | | 10:30 | Coffee & Tea | | | 11:00 | Session 4 | | | 12:30 | Lunch | | | 13:15 | Workshop 1 | Parallel workshop 2 | | 14:45 | Coffee & Tea | | | 15:00 | Workshop 3 | Parallel workshop 4 | | 16:30 | Closing | | ===== Registration ===== In order to help us organize things, please let us know that you want to come.
